The life of a journalist

Being a journalist is much more than knowing how to speak.  It's knowing how to listen.

We all envy those people who have what we think  be dream jobs. Waking up in the morning without the feeling of obligation and routine normally associated with professional life and being truly passionate about what we do is something we all aspire to despite seeming far from reality.

Of course, “in the real world”, there are rare cases of people who really love their work. Some like it, others tolerate it, but most consider employment as the only (or least bad) alternative among the possible possibilities of generating income.

And does it make sense to look for the “dream job”?  Perhaps for some, exceptional cases of rare talent or vocation. But for most, more than a desperate search for the dream job, the secret to being happier is learning to enjoy what you do. Or, to borrow a famous phrase, “if you can't have a job you love, love the job you have (or the way you do it)”. Of course, this is not intended to encourage anyone to stay for a demotivating job. If you are not happy with what you do, you should prioritize finding a new job. But, while looking for something more suitable, it will be much easier to put up with your current job if you can face it with positivism and joy.
